Record the cases and outers a product comes in, such as a case of 12, with how many units each holds, its size, weight and barcode.
In short
Edit the product and select Add Product Format under Product Formats. Enter the format's name, how many units it holds and at least one barcode, then select Save changes.
Before you start
You need to be an Admin, a Warehouse Manager or an Account Manager. If you don't see Edit in a product's Actions, ask an Admin.
Add the product first. Have each format's barcode to hand, such as the one on the case of 24 body balms Hebden Botanicals receives.
Steps
- Go to Products › Products. In the product's row, select Actions, then Edit.
- Under Product Formats, select Add Product Format.
- Enter the Format Name, such as
Outer of 24, and the Quantity of single units it holds. - Enter its Weight (g), Width (mm), Length (mm) and Height (mm).
- Enter at least one of its EAN Barcode, UPC Barcode or Warehouse Barcode.
- Select Save changes. Stockist shows Saved.
A Product Format with no barcode is refused, and the form closes without saving:
Each product format must specify at least one barcode.
Edit the product again and add the format with its barcode.
What happens next
The formats show under Product Formats when you select View in the product's Actions. Each one's barcodes must differ from those of the client's other Product Formats.
To change or remove a format, edit the product again and change or delete it under Product Formats.
