Record a product's HS Code, Country of Origin, Customs Description and Composition on its Customs tab.

In short

In the product's row on Products › Products, select Actions, then View. On the Customs tab, select Edit Customs, enter the details and select Save changes.

Before you start

You need to be an Admin, a Warehouse Manager or an Account Manager. If you don't see Edit Customs, ask an Admin.

Ask the client for each product's HS code and the country it was made in.

Steps

  1. Go to Products › Products and search for the product, such as KES-PEBBLE.
  2. In its row, select Actions, then View. The product opens beside the list.
  3. Select the Customs tab, then Edit Customs. A form opens with the product's customs fields.
  4. Enter the HS Code, up to 10 digits, such as 8518220000.
  5. Enter the Country of Origin as its two-letter code, such as CN for China or GB for the United Kingdom. The field takes two characters only.
  6. Enter the Customs Description, such as Loudspeakers in a single enclosure, and the Composition if it has one.
  7. Select Save changes. The Customs tab shows the new details.

What happens next

Stockist keeps the details on the product for your records. Orders can go only to Great Britain, Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man, which need no customs declaration.
