Find out why the Rapid Scanner says Not found or No signal for a code you scanned or typed, and how to find what you were looking for.

In short

Not found on the result line means nothing matches what you scanned: check what it was, scan the full location code, or find the stock in Inventory › Inventory Items. No signal means the scan never reached Stockist: select Send again once you have signal.

What you see

Nothing matches [code]. Check the label and scan it again.

No signal: scan not sent

It is a serial number or a lot number

The Rapid Scanner doesn't look stock up by serial or lot number, such as K1B25000105 or MINT-2409. Scan the product's barcode or the location instead.

To find one unit or lot, go to Inventory › Inventory Items and search for its serial or lot number. While you count a location, serial numbers and lots do count.

The location code is in another zone

The short code on a location's label is read in your Working Location's zone. If another zone, or another warehouse, has the same short code, Stockist can't tell which you mean.

Scan the full location code, such as COL-PF-P03B3, or first scan a location in the right zone.

The code was misread or mistyped

A smudged or torn label, or a code typed by hand, may be missing a character. Stockist reads codes in capitals, so case doesn't matter, but every other character does: PAL-36 is not PAL-000036.

Scan the label again, or type the code exactly as printed. If the label is damaged, print a new one: scan the location or container and select Print label.

It isn't set up in Stockist

A product barcode Stockist doesn't hold, or a container or location nobody has created, matches nothing. Ask a Warehouse Manager or the client's Account Manager to add the product's barcode, or to create the location or container.

You can't open what it names

A Transaction Number, such as an order's or a pick list's, shows its summary card only if your Team Role can see it. Otherwise the scanner says Not found. Ask a Floor Supervisor or a Warehouse Manager to look it up.

The scan didn't reach Stockist

If the handheld has lost its connection, the result line says No signal: scan not sent and lists every scan not sent, in order. Nothing was done with them. Move to where the signal is better and select Send again: they go in the order you scanned them.

You are counting a location

While you count a location, every scan must be a product, a serial number or a lot. A location or container code isn't counted: scan the products inside the container instead. If something has no barcode that scans, select More › Can't scan and enter how many: a Floor Supervisor relabels them.
