Set your scan sound and vibration

Choose how loud each scan's result sounds and whether your handheld buzzes, for every handheld you sign in on.
In short
Open My settings from your name in the top bar. Under Sound and Vibration, choose a Sound and turn Vibration on or off, then select Save.
Before you start
Anyone with a Stockist account can do this, for themselves only. Your choice is kept with your account, so it follows you to any handheld you sign in on, in every team you belong to. A station screen uses its own Sound instead: see Change the screen's settings.
A new account starts on Loud, with Vibration on, because a warehouse is noisy.
Steps
- Select your name or picture in the top bar, then My settings.
- Under Sound and Vibration, choose a Sound: Off, Quiet, Normal or Loud. Stockist plays at your device's media volume, so its volume buttons turn it down too.
- Turn Vibration on or off. A device that can't vibrate, such as an iPhone, gives no buzz either way.
- Select Save. Stockist shows "Sound and Vibration saved".
If you turn both off, Stockist warns under Only the screen is left:
With Sound off and Vibration off, you only see each result on the screen. You won't hear or feel a refused scan.
What happens next
Your next scan on the Rapid Scanner plays your new choice. Each result has its own sound and buzz: Results lists them.
On an iPhone, the Rapid Scanner plays its sounds even with the silent switch on, since an iPhone can't buzz. This pauses any music while the scanner is open. Other screens follow the silent switch.
