Let a held client's delivery in

Accept a delivery at the dock while its client is on hold, with the Dock Override and a reason that is recorded on the shipment and the client.

In short

When you mark the shipment arrived, turn on Dock Override and enter the Override Reason. If it is already at the door, select Override Hold in its row instead.

Before you start

You need to be an Admin or a Warehouse Manager. Anyone else sees the arrival refused, with the name of the client's Account Manager to ask.

Agree it with whoever placed the hold first. The hold itself stays on, so a client on hold (some call it on stop) has only this one delivery let in.

Decide first

  • Whether to let it in at all. Refusing the lorry is the safe default. Let it in when turning it away would harm the stock, such as goods already on the road.

Steps

When the delivery is Expected

  1. Go to Inbound › Inbound Shipments. In the shipment's row, select Actions, then Mark Arrived.
  2. Choose the Dock Staging Location at its door.
  3. Turn on Dock Override. The form asks for an Override Reason.

Peak Fuel Nutrition Ltd is on hold, so this delivery is refused unless you override the hold. The override is recorded on the shipment and in the client's history.

  1. Enter why it is accepted, such as "Whey already on the road; accepted to protect the stock."
  2. Select Mark Arrived. The shipment is Arrived and can be received.

When it is already at the door

A shipment marked arrived before the hold went on can't be received until the hold is overridden.

  1. In the shipment's row, select Actions, then Override Hold.
  2. Enter the Override Reason and select Override Hold. The shipment can be received.

What happens next

The shipment's Dock Override section shows who overrode the hold, when and why, and the client's history records it. The floor receives it on the Inbound Station as usual. A delivery that was already Receiving when the hold went on is finished without an override.
