Label your locations

Print a barcode label for every location, stick each one up and check that a scan finds the right place.

In short

By the end of this step, every location has its Location Barcode Label. Your team scans these to receive, move and find stock.

Before you start

Have label stock to hand: A4 label sheets, or a thermal roll for a label printer.

Checklist

  1. Print the labels for each batch of racking and shelving with Print location labels. Choose its Batch ID, so the labels come out in pick order.
  2. Print the label for each dock door from its row with Print labels for chosen locations. The dock scans it to place each pallet it closes.
  3. Stick each label on the shelf edge or wall under its location.
  4. Scan one label with Find stock with the Rapid Scanner to check it reads as the right location.

What happens next

You're done when the Rapid Scanner shows a location's details, such as COL-PR-A1A1, after you scan its label.
