Know what each Staff Role and Client Role lets a person see and do, how roles add up, and who can give each one.

In short

Each member of your staff holds one or more Staff Roles, and their powers add up. Each of your clients' people holds one Client Role, which shows them only their own client's work.

The Staff Roles

Staff Roles are the Team Roles for your own people, and reach every warehouse and every client. Stockist has seven, shown with a line on each when you invite someone or change their roles.

Staff Role What it adds
Warehouse Operative Floor work on the scanner and at the pack station: receiving, moving and counting stock, picking, packing, loading and dispatch.
Floor Supervisor The floor's exceptions: short picks, counts that differ from the books, red tags, QA checks, the Weight Override, closing a carrier out early and linking a screen to its station.
Warehouse Manager The warehouse layout, Station Set-ups, container types, operating rules, products, purchase orders, the Dock Override, orders, carrier services, Staff Badges and the floor staff.
Account Manager Clients: their details, going live, holds, rules, contacts and people, products, purchase orders and orders.
Finance Manager The money: Billable Activities, Capture Gaps, the Carrier Rate Table, label costs and account holds. Sees the rest read-only.
QA Checker Passing or failing QA checks, never on an order they picked.
Admin Every power, including the team itself and the carrier connection.

How roles add up

The three floor roles build on each other, so tick only the highest one a person needs. A Floor Supervisor can do everything a Warehouse Operative can. A Warehouse Manager can do everything a Floor Supervisor can.

The floor roles build on each other: a Floor Supervisor has every power of a Warehouse Operative, and a Warehouse Manager every power of a Floor Supervisor.

The other roles sit beside these, and a person can hold several. A stock controller who also checks orders holds Warehouse Operative and QA Checker. A QA Checker always holds Warehouse Operative, Floor Supervisor or Warehouse Manager too.

Who gives each role

  • An Admin gives every Staff Role. Only an Admin can give Account Manager, Finance Manager, Warehouse Manager or Admin.
  • A Warehouse Manager invites, changes and removes Warehouse Operatives, Floor Supervisors and QA Checkers. Floor staff can then get their own sign-in without an Admin.
  • The team's owner is always an Admin, and nobody can change or remove them.

Your clients' people are invited under People on each client's Client 360. An Account Manager, an Admin or the client's own Client Account Administrator can invite them.

Naming people to warehouses and clients

Each warehouse names its Warehouse Managers, and each client names its Account Manager. The names decide whose queues and alerts work lands in. They never limit who can work at a warehouse or for a client.

The Client Roles

A client's person holds exactly one Client Role, never alongside a Staff Role. They see and act for their own client only.

Client Role What it can do
Client Viewer Sees the client's account, products, inventory, inbound and orders, and changes nothing.
Client User Everything a Client Viewer can, plus entering, uploading, editing, holding and cancelling the client's orders before release.
Client Account Administrator Everything a Client User can, plus keeping the client's contacts and people. No warehouse access, and no say over the account's status, holds or rules.
