Deactivate a warehouse you have stopped using, or delete a zone, aisle, rack, shelf or location that was set up by mistake.

In short

To stop using a warehouse, select Actions, then Deactivate, in its row on Warehouses › Warehouses. Delete a zone, aisle, rack or shelf only if it was set up by mistake and nothing is stored in it.

Before you start

You need to be an Admin or a Warehouse Manager. If you don't see Deactivate or Delete, ask an Admin.

Decide first

  • Deactivate or flag, rather than delete. Deactivating a warehouse keeps its history. For a location that is damaged or closed for a while, flag it for maintenance instead: it can come back.
  • Deleting can't be undone. Deleting a warehouse, zone, aisle, rack or shelf also deletes every location under it, and Stockist doesn't check them for stock first. Before you delete, search Warehouses › Locations for its locations, and move out any stock they hold.

Steps

Deactivate a warehouse

  1. Go to Warehouses › Warehouses.
  2. In the warehouse's row, select Actions, then Deactivate.
  3. Select Confirm. Its Status shows inactive, and it leaves the Pick Board.

To use it again, select Actions, then Reactivate, and Confirm.

Delete a warehouse, zone, aisle, rack or shelf

  1. Go to its list under Warehouses: Warehouses, Zones, Aisles, Racks or Shelves.
  2. In its row, select Actions, then Delete.
  3. Read the message: an aisle, rack or shelf says what else will be deleted. A warehouse or zone takes everything under it too.
  4. Select Confirm. It and everything under it leave the lists.

Delete a location

You can delete a location only if its Lifecycle State is Inactive and it holds nothing. In practice that is a location created as Inactive and never used. Select Actions, then Delete, in its row, then Confirm. For any other location, flag it for maintenance.

What happens next

Deleted codes are free again, so a later batch can create the same Full Location Codes. A deleted warehouse's Warehouse Code stays taken if any delivery or order was numbered under it. Print new location labels for anything you recreate.
