Know what each Inventory Status means, which changes Stockist allows, and how quarantined stock is kept apart until it is released.
In short
Every line of stock has an Inventory Status, which decides whether orders can reserve it, pick it or move it. Quarantined stock is held back, and loose quarantined stock stays in a Quarantine Location until someone releases it.
Lines of stock
Stockist tracks stock as Inventory Items, each one line under Inventory › Inventory Items. A line is either one unit with its own serial number, which is Serialized Inventory, or a Batch Pool. A Batch Pool is a quantity of one product with the same lot and expiry date.
Every unit in a line shares one status. To change the status of part of a Batch Pool, Stockist splits that part off into a line of its own. The new line keeps the Batch Pool's Received Day.
What each status means
- Available: good stock. Orders reserve it and pickers pick it.
- Quarantined: held back until someone checks it. No order can reserve it.
- Damaged: found damaged. No order can reserve it until it is made Available again.
- Reserved: set aside for an order, until the order ships.
- Scrapped, Shipped and Not Found: off the books for good. The stock no longer takes up its location or container.
- Voided: a dock scan that was a mistake and has been reversed, so it was never on the books.
- Consolidated: a dock scan folded into another line of the same stock. It is left out of Inventory › Inventory Items.
Which changes are allowed
Change Status offers only the changes Stockist allows from where the stock is now.

Orders reserve stock themselves when they are accepted, and only closing out a collection ships it. Reserved stock found damaged or not found drops its reservation first, so the order reserves other stock.
How stock comes into quarantine
- At the dock: a client whose operating rules have Quarantine on Receipt sends every delivery to quarantine. Peak Fuel's whey arrives this way and waits in a Quarantine Location for its certificate of analysis.
- Problems at the dock: a lot past its expiry date is quarantined. So is a unit whose serial number is not on the ASN, or is already in stock. It comes in without the serial until someone identifies it.
- By hand: a Warehouse Operative or above can change stock to Quarantined. Hebden Botanicals asked for its serum lot
ROSE-2503to be held after reports of the oil separating.
Where quarantined stock can go
Loose quarantined stock goes only into a Quarantine Location, such as COL-QA-QA-01. Moving or unpacking it offers only those. A container holding quarantined stock moves anywhere, with everything in it, so Hebden's held lot stays on its pallet in the racking.
When the stock is cleared, release it to Available and move it back into stock. If it can't be sold, change it to Scrapped.
Counts and the books
A short pick marks its location Flagged for Count. Nothing new is reserved from it or put away into it until a Location Count clears it. A count can make stock Not Found, or bring stock found over the books back as Available. See Count stock and correct a quantity.
