Change a status or release stock from quarantine

Before you start

You need to be a Warehouse Operative, a Floor Supervisor, a Warehouse Manager or an Admin. If you don't see Change Status, ask a Warehouse Manager.

Release stock only once whoever decides has cleared it, such as the client's quality team. To scrap stock that can't be sold, change it to Scrapped. Scrapped, Shipped and Not Found are for good: stock in them can't be changed back.

Steps

Change Status is a desk task: the Rapid Scanner doesn't offer it. On the floor, use the scanner's Mark damaged for damaged stock: see Mark stock damaged.

1. Go to Inventory › Inventory Items. To see what is held, filter Status by Quarantined.

2. Select the arrow beside the stock, such as Peak Fuel's on pallet PAL-000033, then Change Status.

3. Choose the New Status. Only the changes Stockist allows from the Current Status are offered.

4. Leave Quantity as it is to change the whole line, or enter fewer to split that many off. A unit with a serial number has no Quantity.

5. Enter a Reason, such as "Released against Peak Fuel's certificate of analysis".

6. Select Change Status. Stockist says what changed:

   Status changed from Quarantined to Available

   Or, for part of a line:

   100 split off as Available, 140 left on the pool

What happens next

Stock made Available can be reserved by orders at once. Released stock still stands where it was, often in a Quarantine Location or on a pallet in one. Move it to a pick face or the racking, or move its container.

Stock made Scrapped or Not Found leaves its location or container, and no longer counts towards its weight or space. Stock made Quarantined can only be moved to a Quarantine Location while it is loose: see Quarantined stock only goes to a Quarantine Location.
