Getting-started Path: step 8 of 15
Set up dispatch and bring your client live
- Getting-started

- Who can do this: Admin, Warehouse Manager, Account Manager
- Checked on 28 October 2026
Set up your carrier, Service Level and collections, then finish your client's go-live checklist and go live, or let its first delivery in early.
In short
By the end of this step, your warehouse can send orders by your carrier, and your client is Active. If dispatch isn't ready yet, early receipt lets its deliveries in while it is still Onboarding.
Before you start
Setting up the carrier and its collections needs a Warehouse Manager or an Admin. Connecting the carrier account needs an Admin.
Have your Royal Mail API key, its service codes and limits, and its collection times to hand.
Decide first
- Go live now, or allow early receipt. Go live needs a Dispatch Warehouse and a Default Service Level with a Carrier Service. If your carrier isn't set up yet, allow early receipt for the first delivery: nothing is dispatched before go-live.
- Name each Service Level by its promise, such as Standard, not by the carrier. For a first set-up, one Service Level, Standard, by Royal Mail Tracked 48, works well.
Checklist
- Confirm the client's operating rules on its go-live checklist, with Work through the go-live checklist. This records the rules as they stand, so change any first.
- Invite the client's lead as its first Client Account Administrator, such as Freya Lindqvist, with Invite the client's people. Freya sees the stock in step 11.
- Add the carrier's service and your Service Level, and choose its Carrier Service at your warehouse, with Set up Carrier Services, Service Levels and rates. Such as Standard by Royal Mail Tracked 48 at Colwick.
- Connect your Royal Mail account with Connect your Royal Mail account, so labels print at the bench.
- Add a location where the carrier's cage stands, such as
OUT-01, choosing Shipping Staging, with Add or change a location. Put it in a dispatch zone, such asDS, added as in Add its zones. - Set the carrier's collections with Set a carrier's collections, such as 17:30 each weekday. Choose that location, such as
COL-DS-OUT-01, as its Goods-Out Spot. Until a carrier has a Collection Timetable, no order going by it can be accepted. - To go live, choose the Dispatch Warehouse and Default Service Level, then go live with Go live.
- Otherwise, allow early receipt with Allow early receipt. Come back to items 3 to 7 once your carrier is ready, before the client's first order in step 13.
What happens next
You're done when the client's Client 360 shows a tick beside Book in deliveries and Accept arrivals at the dock. Once it is live, Release orders and Dispatch are ticked too.
